What It’s Like to Train in Barry’s Red Room
Barry’s is all about intensity — dark lights, loud music, and a group atmosphere that pushes you. The motivation in the Red Room is real: the energy is high, the exercises are well-chosen and generally safe even at a fast pace, and the instructors keep the flow and timing tight.
But it’s not without downsides. The fast switches between the exercises can feel stressful and there is no time for corrections. Instructions aren’t always easy to understand because with the treadmill and the floor there are two programs going on at the same time. If you need guidance or a calmer training environment, it may feel overwhelming.
Bottom line: If you enjoy high-energy workouts and like to push yourself and don’t mind the stress — even after a long workday — Barry’s offers a powerful way to do exactly that. If not, the Red Room might be more stress than motivation.
